With the Greek invasion of Alexander the Great, Alexander wanted the Hebrew Old Testament not only copied to new parchments, but also converted to the Greek language.  At around 325 B.C., Alexander commissioned the Hebrew scholars to convert the Old Testament to Greek.  Did you know that the Greek Septuagint is this copy and conversion of the Israelite Old Testament?
